Thoughts on money.
What would you define money as?
I would say money is a "medium we use for the exchange of goods and services." But what makes money valuable? In all honesty, money only holds value because it is:
1) Printed by a government.
2) Assumed to have or hold value.
3) Lack of education of what money is.
These three things lead to a complete ignorance of money. Sorry to sound so harsh but that is the sad reality. For millennia gold and silver have been the coinage used or the backing of paper currency. Today our money is not backed by anything except the "full faith and credit of the United States."
Hmm... scary huh? We are blindly trusting the government to supply us with the money we use and many people assume it is still backed by gold in Fort Knox. The truth is that, although there is gold in Fort Knox, it is no longer backing our money.
What we call money today is known as: Fiat Currency. The short of it is that fiat money is simply government printed paper which we hold as valuable, which sadly, has no real value.
Take a look at this chart below. It shows how the purchasing power of the U.S. Dollar has sharply declined since 1971. Today, the numbers are even lower since this chart is 10 years old. The red line you see ascending is the value of gold which, over all, is going up with the fall of the dollar.
So again... what is money? Let's ask J. P. Morgen.
Ok... so gold is money! Why do we not use it? There is a whole history lesson here for you!
Seriously! Read the link, it is a short 46 page booklet that does an excellent job of explaining the history of money in this country!
So, assuming you have read the booklet, you will probably want to know how to acquire some gold for yourself and your family?! Yes, I am going to share with you how you can save some of your money in gold. But first there is a very important video you should watch. Why you ask? Don't worry, this is not me trying to get you buy something or a service, this is an honest explanation about gold, gold buying and the reason you will see various prices and you might think what I am offering to you is "too expensive". But I promise, if you watch the video and understand the different terms and pricing, you will discover that what I can offer you is highly affordable!
If you have taken the time to read the booklet, watch the video above, then you should have a pretty good idea of how much 1 gram of gold actually costs. I would like to invite you to become a free affiliate with Karatbars International. Alternatively, you could simply become a customer and start building wealth in gold.
